Introduction to Windows Based Networks¶
A Windows-based network refers to a computer network that utilizes Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) to manage devices, applications, and users within a network environment. Windows-based networks are commonly used in both small and large organizations due to the widespread adoption of Windows OS in business environments, its integration with Microsoft’s enterprise solutions, and the powerful tools it offers for managing networked systems. These networks typically consist of Windows computers, servers, and other devices that are all interconnected and can share resources such as files, printers, and internet connections.
Windows-based networks provide a flexible, scalable, and secure infrastructure that enables centralized management, communication, and collaboration across various devices and users. They can be implemented in various configurations, from simple peer-to-peer networks in small offices to complex, enterprise-wide Active Directory-based networks in large organizations.
